Beginning of 10-year plan to protect and improve waterfronts in Niagara

A series of projects that could be the start
of a long-term vision to enhance waterfronts in this water-rich region
have been given a green-light for funding by regional politicians. Similar to incentive programs that the
Region shares with local towns and cities for such things as improving
specific communities and improving the facades of old buildings,
regional politicians earlier this year approved spending up to $1
million a year over 10 years as part of its long-awaited lakefront
enhancement strategy.
