Lincoln Fabrics for your interior

Fuelled by innovation and technology, Lincoln Fabrics has grown over the past half century into one of the leading weavers of specialty fabrics for high performance and life critical applications.  Established in 1955, the company’s original focus was on the production of the most popular synthetic materials of the day: Nylon and Polyester.

As the demand for fire resistant garments grew in the late 80's, Lincoln Fabrics used its technical ability to meet the fire resistant market needs.

Again in the late 80's due to the demand in body armor, Lincoln Fabrics focused its technical skills and expertise to design ballistic fabric that met and exceeded the market needs in both Canada and the USA.

Our fabric’s outstanding ballistic characteristics allowed us to expand to the US where we currently supply to a number of soft body armor manufacturers. Our manufacturing expansion into Alabama in 2003, with its state of the art manufacturing equipment, has allowed Lincoln Fabrics to participate in the US military market. We are Berry Amendment compliant. Concurrent with these developments Lincoln Fabrics has created a unique line of Nylon Camouflage printed fabrics and will be NFPA certified.

History

In 1955, A. Stewart Howes founded Lincoln Fabrics Ltd. in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and began weaving industrial fabrics and drapery cloth. At that time, the industry as a whole was suffering from over-capacity and increasing foreign competition. Mr. Howes’ strategy was to create a responsive company that focused on specialty businesses.

His approach helped the company flourish and in 1983 the company was passed to the second generation, when David S. Howes assumed the leadership role and helped establish the firm in the forefront of the expanding body armor market. Today Lincoln Fabrics is recognized for its business accomplishments as well as its generous contributions of time, talent and money to the community.

The company’s continuing growth is a testament to its ability to develop new solutions to meet the varied needs of its customers.
